the lockout

i love living in the city. the face pace. the endless dining options. the easy commute to work. the contact source of activities. but on saturday i had my first "ugh" moment of city life. bri & i had to get up early to move the car because of the street cleaning and when we got back to the building we noticed that some jerk had broken his key off in the lock to the main door. lovely. so we call the locksmith and he tells us that it will be an hour. this wouldn't be such a big deal, except for the fact that brian has to be to work in less than an hour and everything he needs is up stairs. we also tried to buzz ourselves in, but we quickly find out that the management company doesn't have our correct phone numbers and i end up speaking to a woman who lives in virginia. she must have thought i was crazy when i called her at 8am, asking her to buzz me in to my own apartment. ( i really hope the delivery drivers in the past didn't try this bc they would have been really confused). so needless to say 2.5 hours later the locksmith finally shows up. brian left for work and it was just me, myself and i killing time. i also forgot to mention that i was in my jammies...hadn't brushed my teeth or hair and no bra. it was just suppose to be a quick trip to move the car! i was amazed that not a single person came out of our building that morning! but of course the building next to ours was like grand central station during rush hour. i can tell you that the floor of our building has 87 tiles in it. restoration hardware has a lovely fall catalog out that i've memorized cover to cover. too bad i can't afford a damn thing in it. patience has NEVER EVER been my strong suite...and i feel very much like God was trying to teach me something. lesson heard loud and clear.

the locksmith shows up, just as my neighbor opens the door to head out for a run. figures. he couldn't have gone for a run the past 2 hours that i was sitting there?

got to love God's sense of humor :)

Dreams coming true...

I GOT IN TO NURSING SCHOOL! After 5 years of applying and being rejected I've finally been accepted! It's an accelerated bachelors program and I cannot wait to begin. But of course I can't ever make things easier on myself...school starts the week before the wedding! This is going to be interesting :)

My wonderful, understanding and very patient fiance has been more than supportive, especially when he found out we'd have to postpone our honeymoon. So no Paris and London till 2014.

I told them today at the preschool that my last day would be in December. I'm going to miss my babies, but so thrilled for this new chapter in our lives!

I know I've been lagging on the posts. I'm going to try harder in the future :)

Less than 2 weeks till my Bridal Shower and 7 weeks till my Bachelorette Weekend in Texas!

Time has been flying by and I know it's not slowing down anytime soon

 Father's Day 2011 @ The Doyles

Our ridiculously handsome nephew, Ryder :)

And the wedding festivities have begun! I flew to Tuscloosa for a shower thrown by my lovely MOH ( Maid of Honor), Kathleen Alfano! It was so amazing to see her and all the girls again. The hardest part was seeing the damage left by the tornado...

And I ever got to see my favorite cowboy...
 Shower decorations...

Thank you ladies! I had a wonderful time :)
Lemonade, sweet tea & mason jars! Perfect!

I tend to get a little excited about things...
Thank you Kat and everyone for a wonderful shower! I love you

Chef & I met up with some friends and spent the day being tourists in our own city...

The wonderful Stephanie Moss...my life would be incomplete without her

We've had an intense interest lately in ghosts...so we decided to spend a Sunday up in Salem! We didn't find any ghosts or witches, but we did have some amazing weather.

The House of the 7 Gables

What a 4th of July we had! My mom was gracious enough to fly us down to Texas for the long weekend and we had an incredible time! She just built a brand new gorgeous house and she showed us how they party in Texas! Since we had such an awesome trip, I decided that it would be the perfect spot for my bachelorette party. Boots & Bling for Molly's Last Fling...October can't come soon enough :)

Us both trying to get on the tube together might have been the funniest thing we've ever done...oh boy!

My mom's dogs live the life...

Chef couldn't get enough Texas BBQ...Salt Lick might have been his little slice of heaven
BBQ for him... A wine tasting for me

& Then there were the cupcakes....

Watching the boat parade...

Mom & her fiance Levi

It's been a crazy couple of months and the summer is flying by. We leave in a couple weeks for Minnesota to spend some time up north with the Harts. I can't wait to see my dad and share a cabin experience with the hubs to be. He's in for a real treat!

The weather has reached record breaking highs here in Boston. I always took a/c for granted growing up, but now I miss it more than ever. It's still hard for me to believe that Bostonians don't have a/c. This might take a couple more years to get use too...

The wedding is coming up fast and I'm so grateful for all the support we've been receiving. Everything is coming together so smoothly that there really isn't much left for me to do! My wedding shoes have arrived and  I almost peed my pants I was so excited! I can't wait to wear them as I say "I Do".

Time to make dinner... Someone has to be the chef in this household :)

Day 16

* a picture of someone who inspires you

my wonderful, spunky, beautiful, youthful great-grandmother Lempi...she raised a family, maintained a household, has a strong relationship with Christ and STILL does yoga at 96. What a rockstar!

I'm beyond blessed to have ALL my grandparents still, along with a great-grandmother. They are all a true inspiration in their own ways.

My paternal grandma,  Cecilia DeRosier Hart is where I took my confirmation name from. St. Cecilia is also the church that we're getting married at. She's the best non-Italian Italian cook ever & I love her dearly.

Day 12, 13, 14 & 15 :)

* a picture of something you love
oysters! delicious! especially when they are in my kitchen being shucked by my handsome chef :)

* a picture of your favorite band or artist
the soundtrack to my life. this is when he came to bama and kat & i had the time of our lives. love k ches.

* a picture of someone you could never imagine your life without
years ago i heard someone say "when you think you've met your future spouse, refer to 1st Cor. l3:4-7 and replace "Love" with your partners name. If it still makes sense, then you've been truly blessed".

Brian is patient, Brian is kind and is not jealous;
Brian does not brag and is not arrogant, (Brian)does not act unbecomingly;
it (Brian) does not seek its own, (Brian)is not provoked, (Brian) does not take into account a wrong suffered,
(Brian) does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
(Brian) bears all things, (Brian) believes all things, (Brian) hopes all things,(Brian) endures all things.

He makes me want to be a better person because I want him to be able the same things about me.
I'm working on it :) Patience isn't one of my strengths!

* a picture of something you want to do before you die
This picture is 2 fold- 1. I want to be a mommy & 2. I want to be able to love someones feet.
( I hate feet. Even my own! Gross! So hopefully my sweet baby's feet will win me over)

This time next week I will be in Tuscaloosa with the lovely ladies that I have missed so much. I've been meaning to write about ttown, but it's still too scary. Maybe I will have the courage tomorrow.

Day 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

* a picture of your most treasured item
My maaam <3 She gave me life & I could never repay her for that. As I've gotten older I've learned to appreciate her in different ways. And although there are many things we won't ever agree on, I'm grateful to have such a strong woman as my mommy.

* a picture that makes you laugh
bahahahahaha!

* a picture of the person who has gotten you through the most
I'm such a daddy's girl, it's kind of ridiculous. It wasn't just his advice and wisdom that guided me, but his never-ending prayers and love.

* a picture of the person you do the most ****** up things with
- this one I don't have a picture with and it makes me sad. when I think of those "crazy" nights it brings me back to high school and college. We aren't in each others lives anymore, but I wish the best for those girls & hope they are doing well :)

* a picture of something you hate

I'm cringing just looking at this picture. It's fennel. I HATE fennel. For me fennel seeds induce vomiting, especially when I don't know they are in a dish. Disgusting.

Today is 7 months until the wedding! wwooohhooo

...Because we laugh a lot

My preschoolers are hilarious. This was what I learned today...

One of my little boys to one of the girls " When we get big I'm going to marry you." To which the little girl responded without missing a beat " Yea, because we always laugh so much together." And it was sealed with a high five. I love my job.

Life is so simple and so beautiful. I can't wait to marry the man I laugh so much with.
